A LEVEL ACADEMIC

A LEVEL ACADEMIC

Chitepo Campus - 'A' Level Academic-CAAC

Who will issue your certificate?

University of Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) is the world's largest provider of international qualifications. The Zimbabwe School Examinations Council (ZIMSEC) is the body responsible for the administration of public examinations in primary and secondary education in Zimbabwe. Both boards are responsible for the quality assessment of candidates' learning and performance, as well as the awarding of nationally and internationally recognized certificates at different levels of the school education system. The broad aim of the qualifications is to develop students' skills in creative thinking, enquiry and problem solving.

CIE and ZIMSEC offer  an extensive range of qualifications and programmes, of which the 'O' and 'A' level qualifications are the most widely known. These two qualifications are acknowledged as the basis for entry into many universities and professional institutions.

Entry requirements for this course

To join the Speciss Study Centre for 'A' Level academic classes, one must have passed 'O' level with at least five subjects, including English Language and Mathematics. Prospective students for this qualification are those who have not completed 'A' Level and would like to do so in the shortest possible time. Subject choices will be discussed with the Director of Studies before registration.

Please bring your I.D copy when you come to register at Speciss College!

What exams will you write?

'A' Level Academic  students write  mid-year mock examinations, and the final CAMBRIDGE or ZIMSEC examinations at the end of the year. The results of the mock exams are particularly important as they are used to identify any gaps in the student's knowledge, so that the teacher can give the students further assistance before the all-important final examinations.

When and where are the classes and what are the fees?

Lessons are offered at different times on different campuses, with some lessons being held during the day, and others in the evening or at weekends. Often the same course can be studied at a variety of different times, so you can choose the one which is more convenient to you.
You’ll get your personal timetable when you register at Speciss College.

What about books and stationery?

You'll need to bring your own notebook and writing materials to your classes. For your convenience, we have a range of stationery items at the Speciss bookshops. A list of textbooks is available on registration. We strongly recommend that you purchase these texts.
