Who will issue your certificate?

Once you’ve completed your study with Speciss College and passed the exams, you’ll be awarded the IPMZ Diploma in Human Resources Management.

The Institute of People Management of Zimbabwe (IPMZ) is a professional association which specialises in human resources management, training and labour. IPMZ is the preferred accreditation body for students who want to improve their knowledge of, and skill in, professional human resources practices.

The Institute’s focus is to ensure the continuing professional development of its members so as to ensure that personnel practitioners maintain the highest standards.

Entry requirements for this course

To register for the prestigious Diploma, you must have successfully completed the IPMZ Certificate or have 5 “O” Level passes including English Language and Maths/Accounts.

If you are over 23 years of age and have 3 “O” Levels, including English Language but do not have the above qualifications, you may apply to the Institute for exemption. Please talk to your Director of Studies.

Bring certified copies of your certificates with you when you come to Speciss College to register as a student!

What you will learn

To obtain the IPMZ Diploma in Human Resources Management, you must pass a total of 10 subjects, 6 of which are compulsory:

Section A - Compulsory

  • Human Resource Management
  • Recruitment and Selection
  • Industrial Psychology
  • Public Relations
  • Management of Information Systems (MIS)
  • Financial Accounting 1

Section B – Choice of two

  • Introduction to Law
  • Reward Management
  • Human Capital Planning

Section C – one choice from the following Human Resources Development Diploma subjects

  • Introduction to Law
  • Management Development

One choice from the following Labour Relations Diploma subjects

  • Employment Relations
  • Introduction to Law
  • Safety, Health and Wellness

What exams will you write?

Exams are held in April and October each year. You’ll register for the exams with IPMZ. Information on the exam fees, which are payable at least 6 weeks before the exam, can be obtained from the IPMZ website.



When and where are the classes and what are the fees?

Lessons are offered at different times on different campuses, with some lessons being held during the day, and others in the evening or at weekends.

Often the same course can be studied at a variety of different times, so you can choose the one which is more convenient to you.

You’ll get your personal timetable when you register at Speciss College.

 



What about books and stationery?

You’ll need to bring your own notebooks and writing materials to your classes. For your convenience, we have a range of stationery items at the Speciss bookshops.

The list of prescribed and recommended books is available on the IPMZ website. We strongly urge you to buy a copy of the prescribed texts.
