Once you’ve completed your study with Speciss College and passed both the theory and the practical exams, you’ll be awarded the City & Guilds Motor Vehicle Systems Certificate. This is the foundation for your future career! You can move on to the City & Guilds Diploma in Motor Vehicle Systems if you wish to improve your qualifications.

Entry requirements for this course

To join the Speciss family and kick-start your career, you need to have passed 5 “O” levels, or have relevant experience in the motor maintenance field.

Bring certified copies of your qualifications when you come to register at Speciss College!


 

What you will learn

This is what you’ll study in the City & Guilds Motor Vehicle Systems Certificate course:

  • Chassis Systems 1
  • Engine Systems 1

NB Students at Marondera will attend theory classes for two Saturdays of each month at Cherutombo High School.

The two remaining Saturdays will be set aside for practical work and students will be transported - at no additional cost to themselves - to Speciss Chitungwiza Campus, where they will conduct practicals in the fully equipped workshops.




What exams will you write?

Exams are held In June and December, and cover both the theory and practical sections of the syllabus. You’ll register for the exams with the Speciss College Exams Officer, who will forward your entry to City & Guilds.

Please talk to the Exams Officer to find out when exam fees are due.



When and where are the classes and what are the fees?

Lessons are offered at different times on different campuses, with some lessons being held during the day, and others in the evening or at weekends.

Often the same course can be studied at a variety of different times, so you can choose the one which is more convenient to you.

You’ll get your personal timetable when you register at Speciss College.

 



What about books and stationery?

You'll need to bring your own notebook and writing materials to your classes. For your convenience, we have a range of stationery items at the Speciss bookshops.
