Who will issue your certificate?

Once you’ve completed your study with Speciss College and passed both the theory and the practical exams, you’ll be awarded both the City & Guilds Certificate in IT Systems Support and the City & Guilds Diploma in IT Systems Support – we teach these 2 qualifications in one. You can then progress to the Advanced Diploma.

Entry requirements for this course

To join the Speciss family and kick-start your career, you need to have passed 5 “O” levels, or have relevant experience in the computer field.

Bring certified copies of your qualifications when you come to register at Speciss College!


What you will learn

This is what you’ll study in the City & Guilds Certificate and Diploma in IT Systems Support course:


  • Dismantle, assemble, install and maintain a desktop computing system
  • Fundamentals of computing systems and customer care



  • Customer support provision
  • Install, configure and maintain software
  • Install, configure and test ICT software


And either

  • ICT repair centre procedures (if you study at the Bulawayo campus)


  • Install and configure ICT equipment and operating systems (if you study at the Chitepo campus)

What exams will you write?

Exams are held In June and November. You’ll register for the exams with the Speciss College Exams Officer, who will forward your entry to City & Guilds.

When and where are the classes and what are the fees?

Lessons are offered at different times on different campuses, with some lessons being held during the day, and others in the evening or at weekends.

Often the same course can be studied at a variety of different times, so you can choose the one which is more convenient to you.

You’ll get your personal timetable when you register at Speciss College.

What about books and stationery?

You'll need to bring your own notebook and writing materials to your classes. For your convenience, we have a range of stationery items at the Speciss bookshops.
