Entry requirements for this course

To join the Speciss family and kick-start your career, you need to have passed the Speciss College Auto Electrics Certificate, or be older than 23 years of age and have relevant experience in the Auto Electrics field.

  • The K Jetronic system
  • The L Jetronic system
  • Motronic systems and mono-jetronic systems
  • The electronic ignition system and electronic fuel injection
  • Control of exhaust emission
  • Lambda sensor and catalytic converters
  • The Lambda closed loop control system

Industrial attachment (only available at Speciss College Chitungwiza Campus)
To enable you to put into practice the skills you’ve learnt in the classroom, Speciss College will facilitate an industrial attachment. From the fourth to the sixth month of your studies, you’ll gain practical experience through being attached full-time at a reputable auto electric business.

During this attachment your tutors will conduct regular follow-ups to ensure that you’re benefiting from your practical working experience. On completion of your attachment you’ll return to campus to prepare for your final exam.

After successfully completing their courses, many Speciss College students have found that industrial attachment leads to employment.

What exams will you write?

Exams are held monthly. You’ll register for the exams with the Speciss College Exams Officer. Information on the exam fees can be obtained from the Speciss College Exams Officer.

When and where are the classes and what are the fees?

Lessons are offered at different times on different campuses, with some lessons being held during the day, and others in the evening or at weekends.

Often the same course can be studied at a variety of different times, so you can choose the one which is more convenient to you.

You’ll get your personal timetable when you register at Speciss College.


What about books and stationery?

You'll need to bring your own notebook and writing materials to your classes. For your convenience, we have a range of stationery items at the Speciss bookshops.
