Who will issue your certificate?

Once you’ve completed your study with Speciss College and passed exams, you’ll be awarded the IOBZ Intermediate qualification. Then you can move on to the Diploma level of the same qualification. The IOBZ Intermediate qualification is the second step towards your success in the banking field!


 

Entry requirements for this course

To join the IOBZ family and register for the Intermediate qualification, you need a pass at the Certificate stage, or a similar qualification. If you are over 23 years of age and have worked in the banking sector, but do not have this qualification, you may apply for exemption from these requirements. Please talk to our Director of Studies: Business Studies.

Bring certified copies of your certificates with you when you come to Speciss College to register as a student!


 

What you will learn

The subjects in the IOBZ Intermediate syllabus are:

Four compulsory subjects:

  • Financial Accounting 2
  • Finance of International Trade
  • Information Technology
  • Management 2

Plus one of the following

  • Corporate Finance
  • Marketing of Financial Services
  • Treasury Management 1
  • Practice of Banking 1


What exams will you write?

Exams are held in February and August each year. You’ll register for the exams with IOBZ. Information on the exam fees can be obtained from the IOBZ website.


Please talk to the Speciss Exams Officer to find out when exam fees are due.

When and where are the classes and what are the fees?

Lessons are offered at different times on different campuses, with some lessons being held during the day, and others in the evening or at weekends.

Often the same course can be studied at a variety of different times, so you can choose the one which is more convenient to you.

You’ll get your personal timetable when you register at Speciss College.

 



What about books and stationery?

You’ll need to bring your own notebooks and writing materials to your classes. For your convenience, we have a range of stationery items at the Speciss bookshops. The list of prescribed and recommended books is available on the IOBZ website. You can find the link on the Resources Menu. We strongly urge you to buy a copy of the prescribed texts.
