Let thorough preparations assure you of a top-level exam performance

Don’t leave it till it’s too late
  • Do you want your child to re-write one or more “A” level Zimsec exams?

Who will issue your certificate?

The Zimbabwe School Examinations Council (ZIMSEC) was established as the body responsible for the administration of public examinations in primary and secondary education in Zimbabwe.

It is also responsible for the quality assessment of candidates' learning and performance, and for the awarding of nationally and internationally recognized certificates at different levels of the school education system.

Entry requirements for this course

To join the Speciss High School family for “A” Level Academic Zimsec, your son or daughter must have passed the subjects he or she wishes to study at “O” level. Subject choices will be discussed with the High School Director of Studies before registration.

Please bring certified copies of your child’s qualifications when you come to register at Speciss College!

What you will learn
Subjects available to “A” Level Academic ZIMSEC students at Speciss College include:

  • Mathematics
  • Biology (Theory and Practical)
  • Chemistry (Theory and Practical)
  • Physics (Theory and Practical)
  • Geography
  • English Literature
  • History
  • Economics
  • Management of Business
  • Accounts
  • Divinity

A student can study up to 4 of these subjects.

What exams will you write?

“A” Level Academic Zimsec students write a mid-year mock “A” level exam, and “A” levels at the end of the year. The results of the mock exams are particularly important, as they are used to identify any gaps in the student’s knowledge, so that the teacher can give the student further assistance before the all-important “A” levels.

When and where are the classes and what are the fees?

Lessons are offered at different times on different campuses, with some lessons being held during the day, and others in the evening or at weekends.

Often the same course can be studied at a variety of different times, so you can choose the one which is more convenient to you.

You’ll get your personal timetable when you register at Speciss College.

What about books and stationery?

You'll need to bring your own notebook and writing materials to your classes. For your convenience, we have a range of stationery items at the Speciss bookshops.

A list of textbooks is available from the High School Director of Studies. We strongly recommend that you purchase these texts.
